How I Can Help

As your Member of Parliament, there are different things I can do to represent and help you.

I have a problem and need assistance. Can you help?

A big part of the job of an MP is helping constituents who are in difficulty.

On behalf of my constituents, I can contact Government departments, agencies, local councils, utility companies, housing associations and many more in order to raise issues, chase up enquiries and advocate for people.

If you require help with an issue to do with benefits, housing, education, asylum and immigration, health, or something else, please do get in touch and me and my team will be able to assist you.

How can I tell you how I feel about a particular policy? Can you help me with a question about policy?

If you have an opinion you want to share or a question about policy, I would love to hear from you and will always respond to your concerns.

Depending on what you want to know or say, I will also write to the relevant Government minister on your behalf to share your opinion or to seek clarity on a particular point. I can also ask Written and Oral Questions in Parliament.

I want to make you aware of something going on in Southampton Test. How do I go about doing that?

I love talking all things Southampton and want to hear from you about anything, good or bad, that you want to raise in the constituency.

Whether you have a brilliant local project you want to make me aware of, or if there is an issue in the constituency you want to raise, I want to know about it.

I would rather speak to you in person. How do I go about booking a surgery appointment?

If you would like to speak to me directly about any or all of the above, you can book to meet me at a surgery appointment.

I hold regular surgeries for constituents in need and I am always happy to chat and listen to your concerns.

You can book an appointment by contacting my office.

I want to speak to you about something else not listed here. Is that OK?

If you are in any doubt about what I can and cannot help you with, please contact my office who will be able to advise you. MPs have an area of responsibility that we have to work within, so some things will fall outside of that, but please ask if you are not sure.
